This free 10 minutes typing test measures your words per minute (WPM) and typing accuracy. WPM uses correctly typed characters divided by 5, then by elapsed minutes. Start typing to begin — no signup required — and get results when the timer ends.
A 2018 study of 168,000 online volunteers reported a mean of about 52 WPM (Dhakal et al., CHI 2018). TypingGuild's practice goals above (30 / 40 / 60 WPM) are suggested targets for practice. Aim for high accuracy first, then raise speed with consistent retesting at the same duration.
A 10 minutes session gives you a timed WPM and accuracy measurement you can repeat later for comparison. Retake it regularly to track your own progress, or try other durations when you want a shorter warm-up or a longer session.
