TypingGuild ("we," "us," or "our") operates typingguild.com, a free typing practice platform offering speed tests, lessons, games, and progress tracking. We respect your privacy and are committed to being transparent about our data practices.

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit or use our website. By using TypingGuild, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the site.

TypingGuild is designed to work without creating an account. Most of your practice data never leaves your device. Here is what we may collect:

Information stored locally on your device

• Typing test results (WPM, accuracy, duration) saved in your browser's localStorage
• Completed lesson and game progress
• Practice history displayed on the History page

This data is stored only in your browser. We do not receive, access, or transmit your typing scores or lesson progress to our servers unless you explicitly share them elsewhere.

Information collected automatically

• Usage and analytics data: pages visited, time on site, referring URLs, browser type, device type, operating system, and approximate location (country/region derived from IP address)
• Log data: IP address, access timestamps, and error logs generated by our hosting infrastructure
• Cookies and similar technologies: small files placed on your device to remember preferences, measure traffic, and support advertising (see Section 5)

Information you provide voluntarily

If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to send (such as your email address and message content). We do not require registration or payment information to use TypingGuild.

We use collected information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve TypingGuild's features and content
• Understand how visitors use the site and which pages are most helpful
• Monitor site performance, diagnose technical issues, and prevent abuse

Your typing history, completed lessons, and game progress are saved in browser local storage under keys such as keyboardDojo_progress. You can clear this data at any time:

Clearing local storage permanently removes your saved progress from that browser.

Locally stored progress data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall/clear your browser data. Analytics and server log data are retained only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, typically for a period defined by each third-party provider (often 14–26 months for Google Analytics).

TypingGuild is a general-audience educational site. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal information, or to opt out of certain data uses including targeted advertising.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You may request disclosure of categories of personal information collected, request deletion, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information.
