A strong password is long and hard to guess. Instead of a short word with a number, try a passphrase made of four or more random words, like river candle orbit maple. Length matters more than odd symbols, because every extra character makes a password far harder to crack. Never use the same password on two sites. If one site is hacked, attackers try the same email and password everywhere else. A password manager can remember them all for you.
